Job Description:
To provide a professional counselling service to children and their families by carrying a personal caseload within the Palliative & Supportive Care Unit.
To support the multidisciplinary team in their assessment of patients, carers and families’ psychosocial and spiritual needs.
To make sure that the needs of all of those who come into contact with the Service are addressed in line with the core values of the Unit
Provide face to face specialist counselling and psychological support to patients, carers, families in line with
Work within the boundaries of confidentiality in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team, attending Multidisciplinary Team meetings within the hospital.
Assess the psychological and social needs of patients and their careers, providing specific advice, support and counselling as appropriate.
Maintain full, accurate and contemporaneous records of all service user contacts.
