Clinical Psychologist

• Testing for Autism with the cognitive battery.
• IQ evaluations ranging from short basic profiles ( VSMS) to the intermediate level ( BKT) to the detailed assessments for higher functioning ( MISIC/ WISC ) and occasionally for adults ( WAIS ).
• Apart from IQ evaluations, learning tests like the NIMHANS battery and academic achievement tests ( WRAT ) need a few hours of testing.
• We also get referrals for personality/ psychiatric concerns for which personality tests, counseling session are done.
• Testing and counselling for ADHD etc is also done routinely.
• The psychologists also provides behavior therapy and cognitive training, apart from parental counseling and training.
• Lastly report making and providing a comprehensive profile of the child with guidelines for intervention is the role of the psychologist.
• Managing and guiding the intern and observer program is also done by the psychologist.
• Research, community projects , group therapy sessions and parent training programs are a few things which are at present not possible due to lack of manpower/ time.
